7 INCH IMPROVED GRAM-O-PHONE RECORD CONSOLIDATED TALKING MACHINE CO. NO.A-168 SAY YOU LOVE ME SUE, SUNG BY ARTHUR COLLINS WITH THE METROPOLITAN ORCHESTRA. RECORDED ,JULY 21 1900. up for bid is a record by in very short, the Philadelphia based consolidated talking machine company founded in 1900 that was later reorganized into the victor talking machine company in 1901. NOW as for the condition, as you can see ( or can't see ) the label ( which i think was a grey color ) is all but gone, (remember we play the record not the label ! ) the record plays ok with surface noise but the band is loud enough and you can hear collins singing . ( it is the earliest disc by arthur collins I've ever heard with orchestra ) there are some scuffs and light scratches, but no chips or cracks, PLEASE LOOK AT ALL PICTURES FOR SALE AS IS . now any disc by the first company to use a paper label are ultra rare and there were only five hundred and twenty five copies made of this one on july 21,1900 ( is this the only known copy ? ) so even in this shape it is still a collectors prize . now my opening bid is a bit high , however this is quite a rare disc. good luck. P.S. arthur collins is number 7 in the picture of edison artists taken in 1900.
