Description

HARRY SOUTH - " PRESENTING THE HARRY SOUTH BIG BAND ", Mercury Records (2008MCL) Mono, 1966.

Very rare '66 Mercury LP featuring Harry South and his own Big Band... featuring many great British Jazz musicians; Tubby Hayes, Ian Carr, Gordon Beck, Phil Seamen, Ronnie Scott, Les Condon, etc.

English issue and pressing.

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

VINYL =  EXCELLENT-  (No serious scratches, no groove damage, just the very lightest of spindle trails, etc. Under a bright grading lamp I can make out a few very light marks just visible on the vinyl's surface - although none of these correspond directly to any audible defects. On playback, there is some very faint surface noise just audibile during the silent run-in before the beginning of the tracks and occasionally during some of the quiet beginning sections of certain tracks. However, once the music gets going, it plays perfectly - free from interuption from distortion, clicks, pops, surface noise, etc. Overall, although it is not perfect, it is by no means ruined by these tiny imperfections and would still make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy (those searching for a museum piece would probably be best off avoiding this particular example though).
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)

SLEEVE = V.G.+ (No rips, tears, massive creases, etc. The front cover isn't in bad shape with just the very lightest delamination and some light corner wear. The rear does not fair quite so well... it is grubby and the bottom third is not sitting perfectly flat, as if it has been in damp atmospheric conditions at some point in it's life - see photos for further clarification)

NOTE: I must point out that we are actually a long standing physical record shop, with many decades worth of selling, trading and grading records under our collective belts. Unlike so many of the jokers now selling records on ebay, we know how to grade records. Before bidding, please read my description carefully, decide how much this record is worth to you and place you max bid accordingly. Please also feel free to check out my feedback from the many other successful transactions I have made in the past.

ANY QUESTIONS? PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO GET IN TOUCH!

HAPPY BIDDING!!!!!
