Arranged by French Library ace Herve Roy "Pink Point" is an exclusive instrumental blend of Jazz Rock, Funky Pop & Library with accent laid on the groovy, improvisional play of M. Pressman on harpischord, piano & electric piano. released on Barclay France only in the early 70s, there’s a dramatic Soundtrack Library type of vibe present throughout this highly consistent album. half of the tracks includes excellently played Pop covers (Beatles’ ‚Let It Be’, Mamas & The Papas’ ‚Monday Monday’, Jobim’s ‚Girl From Ipanema’, the Pop Tops’ ‚Mamy Blue’) but it’s the original material that counts here. at least 5 delirious Club- and Dancefloor fillers: ‘Psalmodie’, ‘Pen One’, ‘Second Pen’, ‘Long Long Trip’ and ‘Apocalypse’ have all ingredients to send beatdigger’s ears to paradise: deep, driving piano riffs in best Duke Of Burlington vein, wahwah backbeats, effective rhythm guitars, discreet horn play, cool runnings on harpischord and piano and on top of it wordless female scat vocals. hard to be praised enough and a masterpiece of Euro Groove vinyl!
