Prestige All Stars (Hank Mobley / Donald Byrd / Kenny Burrell / Jerome Richardson / Mal Waldron / Doug Watkins / Art Taylor) - All Night Long (Prestige PRLP 7073)
Rare original 1956 Prestige deep groove mono pressing featuring Mobley, Byrd, Burrell, etc. with Rudy Van Gelder production. Yellow "fireworks" Prestige labels with "Long Playing Microgroove" and "Prestige Records Inc., 44 W. 50th St., N.Y.C." address (same address as printed on bottom of sleeve). Hand-etched matrices "PRLP-7073-A/B" and hand-etched "RVG" and "AB" (for Abbey Manufacturing).

Disc is VG- with a few superficial marks on both sides that aren't audible but one serious issue: B side has two small spots that can be felt with a fingernail and are raised above the vinyl's surface - a tiny white speck about half-way through the first track that causes a low-level audible pop (but no skips) and a gray-ish spot towards the end of the last track that does cause a skip. Record has not been cleaned (by hand or with a machine) and I haven't tried to remove these, but it might be possible with a proper cleaning. Sleeve has a 4" seam split at top right and shelfwear to corners, the right side of the front cover with some areas where delamination is starting at the very edge, otherwise bright.
Overall a serviceable copy of a rare and desirable record. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions or for more photos.
