New York rock outfit The Pretty Reckless return with Taylor Momsen's 'Pretty Reckless Christmas', a five-track EP that finds their frontwoman revisiting 'Where Are You Christmas?' 25 years after first performing it as a child in How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The reimagined version trades cinematic sweetness for a more weathered warmth, Momsen's voice now carrying the grain and gravity of experience. Behind her, restrained guitars and soft orchestration replace the bombast of her usual sound, offering space for reflection. Elsewhere, the band take on four more festive standards in their own smoky, blues-tinged fashion. It's a small and poignant detour but proof that the heaviest voices can find something luminous in nostalgia.
