Description
So, after five decades of collecting vinyl and Hi-Fi, the time has finally come to downsize. Over the next few months, with great reluctance, I will be gradually selling off my treasured collection of records, cds and hi-fi equipment. It will take a while !!! For instant sale is a copy of the first UK pressing of the 'PARACHUTE' album from 1970 by PRETTY THINGS. It is on the sought after HARVEST label and has the catalogue number SHVL 774. The labels do not have the boxed EMI logo and the matrix numbers in the run-out grooves end in A2 and B2 confirming that this is a first pressing. The sleeve is mostly in very good condition for its age. However, there is some edge and corner wear and there are also a some creases in the front lamination which you can see in photo 2. There is also a bit of what looks like water damage on the rear sleeve which you can see in photos 6 and 7. Please study all the photos to see the condition for yourself. The labels are in very good condition but they do have quite a few 'spindle trails' and 'age spots' - again, you can see these in the photos. The record surfaces have a few scuffs and marks but, on my system, both sides played through with only light surface noise ('crackle) and occasional 'pops/clicks'. If you are looking for a pristine copy of this fine prog album then this one isn't for you. But if you are prepared to put up with an imperfect record and sleeve then it might be. I have priced the album to reflect the faults described above. The album will be wrapped in bubblewrap before posting to ensure that it does not get damaged on its journey. I will dispatch it in a proper record mailer and will post within one working day of purchase by Second Class post so that it gets on its way to you as soon as possible.
