PRETTY THINGS - S.F.SORROW
Original Very Very 1st press UK 1968 Vinyl LP on original COLUMBIA BLACK & BLUE Label in LAMINATED Gatefold Sleeve and original EMI/COLUMBIA Inner sleeve. Both sides of this pressing have 'G 1' mother/stamper matrix codes indicating the very first pressing run from the original mothers and stampers!!!
An amazing sounding iconic album, great production - Full use of stereo - an audio experience if ever there was one of what was the very first 'concept' album. The Stereo mix of this album is amazing on these 1st Pressings. A rare album that sold little on release (god knows why as it is such a great album) and is very difficult to find some 42 years later.
GATEFOLD SLEEVE:VG++
Laminated gatefold sleeve. No major issues, a nice clean original laminated sleeve - no rips or tears. Has some laminate creasing, corner bumps and a small name/date written on the inside gatefold (all visible in photos). Inner gatefold nice and clean. Although it is common for the front of this sleeve to become discoloured in this case the sleeve retains its white colour.
INNER SLEEVE:
EX-
Original printed emi/columbia inner sleeve. Nice and flat, no major creases. No writing or tears. Some discolouration at bottom.
VINYL:
Great sounding full gloss original vinyl pressing. These original pressings are some of the best I've heard. Original UK Columbia blue on black labels. Very First press of this classic and rare UK album. No skips or jumps.
Plays EX. Visually VG++ / EX Side 1 - VG++ Has 4 non-sounding sleeve scuffs. Side 2 - EX has just 1 or 2 minor sleeve scuffs.
Plays great. Some light crackle on the run in and quiet sections of side 1 but hardly noticeable. Side 2 plays great right through with pretty much silence throughout quiet parts and gaps between tracks.
N.B. Please see last photo - there is a warp on the very edge of the record. The extent of this is shown in the photo. It does not affect play on my system.
