Description

 Up for auction is a mega rare Prewar Blues 78 RPM on the DECCA Records label (7904).  The A side artist is Peetie Wheatstraw (The Devil's Son-In-Law), and the B side artist is Oscar Woods (The Lone Wolf), and both singer can howl!  The A side tune is titled SOUTHERN GIRL BLUES, and the B side tune is titled EVIL HEARTED WOMAN BLUES.  This highly collectible 78 was recorded on March 21, 1936 in New Orleans.

The shellac receives a grade of V+, due to the usual surface scratches, and a chip on the edge of the B side at 4:00 o'clock, which does  not affect the sound whatsoever.  The labels receive a grade of E+.  The sound receives a grade of E-, as the voices and instruments are crystal clear, and can be easily heard over the usual surface noise.  You will not be disappointed in the sound of this 78 RPM record.  This impossible to find 78 RPM record belongs in a prestigious 78 RPM record collection!

On Jul-30-09 at 18:30:12 PDT, seller added the following information:

A piece of the shellac at 10:00 came off while dusting the record on the B side.   The chip butts up against the first groove, but I played the record, and there is a 2 second delay before the music begins after placing the needle on the grooves, so the chip does  not  affect the sound whatsoever.  I assure you that the rest of the record is solid.  Again, if you are not pleased with the condition or the sound of this 78, I will gladly refund your monies, including shipping.  If you have already bid on this record, you are not obligated to purchase it.  Thanks again for your interest.
