Description

10" 78rpm record.

Timely Tunes label #C-1580

Pre-War jazz/dance bands.

"I Found A Million Dollar Baby" (mx.69917-2) by Sam Johnson and his Orchestra (Leonard Joy and his Orchestra) b/w "The One Man Band" (mx.69921-2) by Ben Friedman's Paramount Hotel Orchestra (Snooks and his Memphis Ramblers-Snooks (Ben) Friedman-d-dir./James Migliore-t/Estes Monasco-t/Ken Herlin-tb/Walter Ashby-Elly Bellare-cl-as/Al Muller-ts/Rupe Biggadike-p/Bob Cooke-bj-g/Chuck Gordon-bb-sb/unknown vn). Recorded in NYC 9 June and 10 June 1931 respectively.

Grade E--. Nice shine, a few light pressing marks. Has a very light, almost imperceptible spider crack in the runoff area on the "Baby" side. Light even groove wear. Labels look washed out in the photos but this is the fault of the camera.  Nice copy. Timely Tunes records are scarce!!

Grading:

I use the following grading scale:

E+: A choice copy with no wear whatsoever.

E: Virtually no trace of groove wear with minimal traces of use and handling.

E-: Above average with a slight degree of groove wear/marks not enough to seriously detract from audio quality.

V+: Obviously well played, still enjoyable. Noticable greying in the grooves.

V: Very well worn, but still listenable. Expect noticable surface noise. Possibly some stressed grooves.

V-: Pretty well gone. May be possible to coax a little more life out of it using the right stylus.

P: Most likely unplayable. Filler copy.

On records where grades between sides are vastly different I will use a dual grade (ex. E/V-).

I have been collecting 78 rpm records for over 40 years. I try to be very conservative with grading. Most buyers should be very pleased.

Unless otherwise specified, any label issues in the photos are the result of glare from the camera flash and not on the labels themselves.

Shipping:

Records will be securely shipped using cardboard squares and foam peaunts. I've been mailing 78 rpm records for some time now and have not yet lost a record in shipping.

I will combine wins to save on shipping. If you have mutiple wins, please do not pay until receiving an invoice.

I will ship to international locations, however, international shipping has become quite expensive. Please email before bidding if you are outside of the U.S. Be advised I will NOT accept returns on any items shipped outside of the U.S.

Please email me with any questions. Good luck and thanks for looking. I plan on listing around 20 records of the same types every two weeks. Please keep an eye open for more Jazz/Blues/Dance band records.
