Description

PRIME RECORDS VOLUME 1 - COMPLETE SET + 1  THIS SET INCLUDES TWO COPIES OF THE BEATLES "TWIST & SHOUT" AND "I SAW HER STANDING THERE"
I'm fairly confident that this set, plus 1, has never ever been seen on EBay. I've seen the Prime Beatles record sell for over $150.00 on several occasions, but I'd rather keep the set together than break it up.
I always annoyed me when a record had two great songs. You had to choose which side to play. For that reason, I often had two copies of my favorites. One of the reasons this set is in such good condition is because I bought several sets of the Prime Vol 1. I would keep two copies of my favorites. For the duplicates that I didn't keep, I would keep the better copy and sell off the other copy.
You get two copies of the Beatles record in this set. One copy has no scratches and looks like new. On the other copy, "Twist & Shout has no scratches and looks like new. The "I Saw Her Standing There" on the second copy has some issues. It looks like someone cleaned the record improperly. A half inch band around the edge of the record has no sheen (1/4 Inch on the entry groves and 1/4 inch on the recording groves). There are also multiple light scratches. I played both copies on my turntable multiple times to hear the difference between the records. There is a slight background noise on the entry grooves on the damaged record that is not present on the good copy. Other than that, I'm hard pressed to tell much of a difference.
19 of the 26 records have no scratches and look like new. Six of the remaining seven records only have scratches on one side. Most of these scratches are very small. For those counting, that leaves eight sides with some type of damage. On four of those sides, the damage is very insignificant. Your best records should look so good.
There are four sides that have scratches readily apparent. One is the Beatles record referenced above. The others are "One Fine Day", "La Bamba", and  "The Great Pretender." I played them all on my turntable and they sound great. No clicks, skips and low background noise.
If you already have a Prime Vol 1 set, do what I did. Buy this set, keep the Beatles record, trade out your scratched records and the sell the complete set.
Last thing. There are two photos of the Prime Records box. Both images appeared on the original Prime boxes, but the one without the jukebox was more common. Several years ago, I produced custom record boxes with graphics from the original boxes. I chose to reproduce the less common box graphics, which is what I will use to ship the record set. The custom box is much more sturdy than the original box. I have the original Prime box which is available. For $5.00 I will ship it to the winner of the auction. If the winner doesn't want it, I'll offer it to anyone who wins one of my auctions. Message me through EBay if you are interested.
I have a lot of 78 rpm Reproduction Records (from incomplete reproduction sets) that I am selling individually. Also, five complete Reproduction sets, and several custom acetates (Pretty Woman is one) along with a few original acetate 78s (including a Pasty Cline).
Cannot combine shipping for the record set. No room in the box
