1st and only pressing released in 1979 on WB (EMI-Odeon), Argentina. As usual in this region the titles are translated into Spanish. This is perhaps one of the rarest Prince 45s from South America, and if you are a serious collector, you definitely know what I'm talking about. For some reason, and despite the record company involved (Warner Bros-Argentina), it got only a very limited run, and rarely or never turns up for sale. This is Prince's first single and the exact counterpart (I refer to the track listing) to the U.S. pressing also on the WB label (# WBS-49050, 1979). However, this specific copy of # 200101 is even rarer because it is a Promotional (Not For Sale) example. I literally dug through millions of 7-inch records (local releases) over the past 15 years, and this is the first time I've come across a Promotional copy of this elusive Prince release. It features a banner on the label which says Discos Warner Bros, and completely differs of the stock (commercial) copies which have the WB logo and a different design. A conservative estimation gives an amount of between 50 and 100 copies (distributed exclusively in 1979 in the main local radio stations), of which this is perhaps the only surviving one reported so far. In addition this copy is in stunning condition. Don't miss this rare chance to own this impossible Prince 45!
Record: A-side: VG+(+) to EX / B-side: EX, .......... (It has a few light scuff marks, mainly on the A-side, and plays excellent!). .......... Both labels are absolutely clean, .......... (NO writings, stickers, dirt, spindle marks, ink stamps and/or wear). .......... Sleeve: N/A, it comes housed in its original company sleeve.
