Description

For auction is PRINCE LASHA & SONNY SIMMONS' "Firebirds", on Contemporary S7617, 1968. It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides complete. The sound is insane, and I DO mean that as a double entendre! No noise, clean and clear audio from these brothers from another planet!
Visually, the vinyl is NM- or better, with not a single smudge or mark. Interesting note (another double entendre): in the upper right corner reverse, written in pen, is a DJ note: "warped, hard to cue". Well, I'm here to tell you, a miracle has occurred! Because this record was healed. I can't see any warping no matter which angle I look. (The record was shelved with 5000 others for the last 40 years, it must have straightened out.)
The sleeve is NM- or better with no flaws of note. It is still in the factory wrap. It was upon this that the DJ of old wrote his cautionary note... The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics. A nice record, in super condition. No reserve, bidding starts at $25.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction.
