Description
This is an extremely scarce UK only 12" promo of the Prince penned track 'If I luv u 2 nite'.
This prince penned track was routinely released as a Mica Paris 12" promo, prior to its normal release, and then it was noticed that instead of her rendition of the track, it featured Prince's original version, totally in error.
All copies were immediately withdrawn, and (apparently) on the instructions of Prince himself, a letter was sent out requesting the return of all records. This didn't happen with all of them, and some copies remained in circulation. This version has never since been released officially.
I read in 'Uptown' magazine (who are usually very accurate) that only between 100 and 150 were still in circulation. I would imagine that with quite a few of these it was never realised that Prince was singing on the track.
The 12" comes in a thick paper sleeve with writing on, describing the track and its production.
The condition of both the record and sleeve is mint.
I bought this when it was first released so I know that it is genuine.
This is one of the Prince items in my very large collection that I am slowly selling. I will shortly be listing the two lovely Prince Japanese double album promos from the 1980's and a few other Prince rarities.
