Description
PRINCETON NASSOONS 1972 Private Press Princeton University Ivy League A Cappella
The Princeton Nassoons are the oldest a cappella singing group at Princeton University, founded in 1941. This is their 1972 annual album, documenting the 1971–72 roster — twelve members spanning the classes of '72 through '74. The repertoire runs from standards and show tunes to spirituals and folk, including "All The Things You Are," "I Cover The Waterfront," "Scarlet Ribbons," "Yesterday," and "The Shadow of Your Smile." Produced and directed by Frank Tomaino and recorded at Aura Studios in New York.
The gatefold opens to an extensive photo spread — "Yesterday…Today" — tracing Nassoon history from the 1940s through 1972 with period photographs and liner notes. The back cover lists the full roster with class years, standing and seated, and names two members absent from the cover photo.
This is an original 1972 private pressing on the group's own label, pressed by Cook Laboratories, Inc. Orange label with the Nassoons' illustrated Princeton tiger mascot. Catalog CO 3973.
