HIPPY COLLECTIVE formed at Eassex University consisting of at least fourteen members with roots in performance art, dance, poetry and folk psych. Amazingly they were signed by John Peel to his label Dandelion Records after he witnessed their first ever gig! Whatever Peel was smoking it clearly impared his judgement as the cabal could barely write a song to save their life. Imagine Hawkwind jamming with Gong whilst taking further instruction from the Incredible String Band. Not so much far-out but more WAY-OUT.
A real period piece and produced by the Floyd's Nick Mason.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
Pressing: Dandelion, UK, 1969
Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. No spindle marks visible on labels and only the faintest signs of other use. A couple of micro surface scuffs (note NOT scratches when viewing in extreme light). Grades as a very nice MINT-!
Cover: Nice condition. Issued in a fine gatefold cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no split seams and no creases. Spine is straight and stiff. Displays a hint of storage and handling wear - nothing horrendous. Grades as a nice Ex+
