PROCOL HARUM
SIDE A: UNA BLANCA PALIDEZ
(A Whiter Shade Of Pale)
SIDE B: LIME STREET BLUES
MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original London “ffrr” Records very first Hi-Fi Mono press released by London Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1967 by Industrias Eléctricas y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), licensed from London Records Inc. from New York, U.S.A., catalog number DIM 17210, with machine etched matrix numbers XDR 40348 N4 (“N” inverted) in Side A and XDR 40349 N1 (“N” inverted) in Side B, with unusual red/silver Decca Records and push-out center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE!!!
“A Whiter Shade Of Pale” was originally released in UK in May 1967 and in USA in June 1967 and the same year we got this single released here in Chile. Song titles written in Spanish, translated to English, in the case of “A Whiter Shade Of Pale”, and in English only, in the case of “Lime Street Blues”, with full credits for songwriters, producers and publishers, with additional information of licenses, play time of each song and origin of the songs, written in English: “Recorded in England by ‘DERAM’”. It’s interesting to notice the play time of songs, because in original UK and US issues the play time is omitted and because “Lime Street Blues” has “2.58” minutes but in original US Promo copies the play time informed is “3:05”, not a great difference but difference after all. And the most important fact to know about this single is that you can find many different pressings in Chile but the very first of all, the authentic very first press released in Chile is this red/silver labels issue with push-out center. The copies with solid center are later reissues. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE and AUTHENTIC CHILEAN VERY FIRST PRESS of this successful debut single by Procol Harum, almost never seen and now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Procol Harum and UK beat/rock of the ‘60’s!!!
This single doesn’t come with a cover. Record is in VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only soft scuffs and light hairlines, which don’t affect play at all, with the push-out center removed. Labels are in EX or EX+ condition both sides, clear and clean, with only minimal spindle hole wear, the grade is mostly given because of the push-out center removed. The sound is in strong VG- or even VG condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and occasional clicks, pops and some hiss here and there, more evident in the last seconds of each song, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, with Side A closer to VG and Side B closer to VG-. Overall, sure this record could not to be for Minty minds or audiophiles, but it still keeps a nice look, clean labels and a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 56 years, which won’t disappoint everyone!!! And keep in mind this is the AUTHENTIC VERY PRESS RELEASED IN CHILE!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile
____________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
