Description

Beginning in 1967 all U.S. record companies stopped pressing Mono LP's in favor of the increasingly popular Stereo pressings. Thus finding an original 1968 Mono LP issue is very difficult. Two highly prized examples of original issue '68 Mono's are the self titled Doors album and Elvis Presley's Soundtrack LP, "Speedway". The Mono "Speedway" album is rarely, if ever seen.
The album offered here, "Autosalvage" is a first pressing Mono issue released in 1968. To my knowledge this rare Psych album has never been offered on E-bay in the Mono version. The main reason for that is the extremely low print run of the Mono version of this very rare LP.
This is Autosalvage's first and only album release. Frank Zappa was heavily involved in promoting this Psych band from N.Y.C. In fact, he gave the group their name after hearing the first track on Side 1, "Auto Salvage". Zappa suggested combining the two words thus creating a totally different definition.
This Near Mint album is on the RCA label, LPM-3940, first pressing, original issue, 1968.
