HERE IS SOME INFO BELOW;
GYPSY were the band the BBC banned, according to guitarist John Knapp.
They were touring in Europe when Top of the Pops issued an SOS call for them to come back to be on the show with their new single Changes Coming.
John said: " But then the BBC banned it. It was too political."
The band formed from the remnants of LEGAY, Tamla fans in make-up with songs like Vacuum Cleaner Mother and Steam Driven Banana who released a single on Fontana Records in the heady days of
hippy.
He briefly resurfaced with drummer Moth in The Flicks, together with John Butler, recording an album at John Lennon's house.
Being dropped brought John back down to earth, or put him in it, as he ended up gravedigging for a while.
LEGAY founder member Legay Rogers died of asbestosis in 1997.
Drummer Moth is now in Diesel Park West, guitarist
Robin Pizer is a social worker in Birmingham and fellow Gypsy Dave
McCarthy is a nurse.
