ITEM: Rare and In Demand 1970's Psych LP: " Song of Innocence ( a suite in seven parts inspired by the writings of William Blake ) ", composed, arranged, and produced by David Axelrod. Original USA Capitol Records recording, catalog number ST-2982 STEREO, "
COMMENTS / CONDITION:
This LP came from a private collection - it is not a beat up item bought at a yard sale. The record was visually graded, and was test played.
Grading is according to Goldmine Standards. If you are not familiar with that system, please go to the Goldmine web site and read the grading details BEFORE YOU BID.
Visually the vinyl is in VG+ Condition, still retaining much of the original gloss. There are no warps, deep scratches, or cracks. On close inspection, a number of scuffs and light surface marks can be seen, which are mostly cosmetic and do not affect the playback and listening enjoyment of the music.
Audio playback is strong VG+ condition. On my older system, both sides played with very good, crisp sound quality, with no harsh background noise, skips, or groove lock. There were a few audible ( but not overpowering ) soft tics/pops. NOTE: Sound quality will vary from system to system. The above comments are included strictly as reference, and are not a statement as to the experience you may have with your equipment.
The inner sleeve is white paper.
I have not tried to clean the vinyl or the labels. Serious collectors usually have their own preferred methods they use to care for their records.
The cover is in VG condition, with no stickers, labels, price tags, cut-out drill holes, notches, or clipped corners. Visible ring / rub wear, is present. The seams have moderate chipping and shelf wear, especially the bottom seam which also has a 1.5 inch split at the opening edge. There is bubbling along the bottom of the cover slick, apparently from exposure to moisture. Photos and graphics are crisp and clear.
Please see the attached high resolution photos for close up, detailed views, to help you judge for yourself the condition of cover and record.
