PSYCHOTRONS “Death is a Dream” and "Unchained Melody" on BCP ca. 1969
A “holy grail” 45—one of a handful to ever surface. “Death is a Dream” is a revelatory piece of music.
The Sound: Many scratches visible and audible on “Death is a Dream” and “Unchained Melody.” These defects can be heard on the recordings below. “Unchained Melody” sounds a bit fuzzy in places. Both sides need to be cleaned. I am a collector, not a dealer, and thus cannot offer a truly professional opinion of the grade of this record, but would call it VG if pressed (no pun intended).
Label: General wear with several dark spots on “Unchained Melody” and a few on “Death is a Dream.”
The recordings (below) were obtained by holding a Tascam digital recorder beside my record player. Thus, these are not “high fidelity” recordings, but do accurately highlight the record’s defects.
