PUBLIC IMAGE LTD METAL BOX - 1979 ORIGINAL UK 1ST RELEASE - "Metal 1" / PIL / Sex Pistols ** RARE VINYL! **
If you're reading this, then you already know what you're looking at and you know the value of it too. I've seen many of these Metal 1 PIL Box Sets sell over the years and usually for a couple of hundred pounds too. 

I purchased this 2nd hand from my local record shop ("J" Records in Gosport) way back in 1987, when as a 16 year old angry lad, I embraced the whole punk scene. I remember getting it home and playing it on the old man's record player as loud as I could and I remember my old man looking at me, wondering exactly what was going on. I don't really remember playing it much after that, as vinyl and record players started phasing out for casettes and CD's within a few years anyways. This Metal1 box set has accompanied through my life for the last 36 years now and moved with me, from house to house - It's always been kept inside and either under the bed or on top of the wardrobe but I guess it's finally time I got it moved on to someone with a record player and hopefully another old punk like maself who will enjoy it.

About the box set itself:
You can see there is the normal tarnishing to the inside and outside of the metal box and relevant scratches / marks too. It is 44 years old after all! If you ever see these box sets looking all minty mint, they've had work and been polished.
There is a dent in the back of the metal box (or bottom of the box), this was there when I bought it in 1987 and there's no evidence whatsoever that it damaged the records inside.

You can probably have the dent pushed out and the metal all cleaned up but that's up to you - I've not tried to disguise or tart anything up here :)

Finally, the "Metal 1" sticker that was on the bottom of the box (outside) is all but gone - You can see it but it's not as fresh as it was in 1979!

The box set comes complete with: The 3 X 12" vinyl records ~ All 4 paper dividers ~ The red and white A5 track listing.

I haven't ever owned a record player in my life (my Dad did but I'm certain he hid it, after hearing Mr Lydon on that fateful day back in 1987), so this means I genuinely can't vouch that the 3 records play without any issues. I can't see why they wouldn't and I can't see any hint of scratching on the vinyl, I can see dust and the odd fingerprint (you'll probably see these in the photos) and I've not made any attempts to clean or wipe over the records either but they all look OK and besides they haven't even come out of the box for over 30 years anyways.
As a caveat, I am NOT a record / vinyl grader / expert or anything like that.
If you are the winner on this one, I will VERY SECURELY pack up the box set and protect it correctly and it will get posted to you via Royal Mail and correctly insured / tracked too. Sorry for the high cost of "Special Delivery", it is at true cost and I'm not making a penny from it but it's the right service to use here,

** The ding in the box ** - I've had a few questions about the dent, so hopefully this will help. The dent is "inside out" on the bottom of the metal box. This means it's likely someone or something stood / struck the metal box when it was in 2 sections (opened) and from the inside, so the high spot of the dent is on the outside when the box is closed. This also means there was / is no chance the records inside were ever damaged, when whatever caused the dent.
