PULP: Different Class ORIGINAL 1995 UK VINYL + SLEEVES. Super Rare & In Fantastic Condition
"Oh, is this the way they say the future's meant to feel..?"
For auction here, what is considered one of the greatest records from the entire 1990s Britpop explosion. The ORIGINAL 1995 UK vinyl release of Pulp's classic "Different Class" in absolutely superb condition. How it has survived almost three decades like this is little short of miraculous.
Because of the famously intricate nature of the albums packaging - and the natural temptation of owners to rotate the TWELVE different cover possibilities - 99% of those copies that have survived have either pieces missing or are in a ragged state. This one is all intact and pretty much as new.
Copies of Pulp's masterpiece simply do not come up for sale like this these days. Hardly anyone was buying vinyl 27 years ago and only a relatively few vinyl editions of this wonderful record were ever pressed up for sale in the shops. The cover concept alone must have cost a fortune to create. Today, the CD version is commonplace...but the original UK vinyl with the twelve different sleeves? Absolute collector's treasure.
And WHAT a copy we have here.
This brilliant album is in truly terrific shape. The grooves shine super-bright, deep and glossy, no scratches, scuffs or warp. Under a strong light there are a few areas of hairline wisps but these appear to be from the vinyl pressing process itself and do not affect play in any way. I noted the disc had that tell-tale static resistance to leaving the inners which is always a sign it has not left it's sleeve very often before.
The photo cards are simply amazing. Bold, fresh and vital. The outer cover shop-standard, with stiff spine and undimmed colours. The most delicate aspect of the packaging was always the 'window', the thin card aperture through which your choice of photo can be seen. I have never seen a copy that didn't have at least a few tears to this. This one has NONE. It is perfect.
The inner sleeves cannot be faulted. No bends, no wear and no sign of previous handling. Literally as good as new.
There simply cannot be another UK original out there to match this. This is just how this record left the factory back in 1995.
And here it is presented for sale again. A truly exciting opportunity for all serious collectors of Pulp, Britpop and all classic pop music. What an opportunity.
