Description
This is becoming ultra-rare.
It's on the UK Morgan Bluetown label and is entitled 'Pussy Plays' by Pussy. This is one of my favorite progressive psychedelic albums.
It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is BT 5002. It was released originally in 1969. It is a very rare record.
OUTER SLEEVE - The flipback sleeve is, to be honest, not in great condition. It's a textured type but on the front there is marked ring wear and some minor tears in the top right hand corner and a very small tear in the top left hand corner. The top of the sleeve has been repaired on the outside along the whole length with clear tape. There is also a piece of clear tape which has been used to repair the bottom front left hand and rear bottom right hand corner. Some clear tape has also been removed from the whole length of the bottom edge but it doesn't appear to have torn the cover. The rear flipbacks are as follows - top - 50mm missing from top right hand corner - spine - reasonable with some minor wear - bottom - definite wear but no major tears. The rest of the rear of the sleeve is in reasonable condition. There is a stamp which states 'NORTHERN RECORD SUPPLIES'. At the bottom right hand corner it states 'Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. pat no. 943.895 but this wording is partly obscured by the tape. the edges are worn and the spine is reasonable with the wording 90% readable - 'MORGAN BLUETOWN PUSSY'. I must grade the sleeve VG--.
INNER BAG - The inner bag is a die-cutpolythene lined paper type and states on one side 'IMPORTANT! RECORDS WHOSE LABELS... ETC.' MADE IN ENGLAND R.S. 2-69'. The other side is plain white. The condition of the inner bag is Ex-- .
RECORD - The record is a revelation compared with the sleeve. It looks quite clean and appears to have been played quite a few times. There are some very superficial marks on either side which do not affect the quality. It plays very well on both sides with some minor surface noise, especially between tracks and some occasional pops and clicks on both sides. These blemishes do not detract from the overall quality of record. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.
LABELS - The labels are light blue with dark blue wording. There are some spindle marks around both holes. The labels are in fine condition. It states on both labels 'twin stereo' - Produced and arranged by Danny Beckerman - All Numbers Published by MORGAN MUSIC CO. LTD. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - BT-5002.A-1G - side two - BT-5002.B-1G. I've graded the record as Ex-- which I believe is very fair.
I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.
THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM.
