Description
Pygmy Unit - Signals From Earth - private press from 1974. Pygmy Unit were a group of experimental jazz players from San Francisco that developed a sound by blending the usual jazz instruments with the instruments and music of non-industrial cultures. From booklet: "Development of New Music is a continuous path that grows directionally according to psychoaccoustial phenomena available for unification. This record is evidence of that development, containing 12 performance pieces, taped at 12 separate times in different accoustical spaces with various combinations of musicians and instrumentation. The music is shaped by signals, received and sent by life forms on this plantet. It is unwritten, unrehearsed, utilizing new and traditional approaches to energy, motion, form. Eventually, music develops into a natural extension of the environment in which it exists. It is the aim of tradition...to signal the universe from Earth."
Album was limited to 1000 and comes with booklet. Cvr/ VG+ and Rec/ VG++ to M- (some minor sleeve scuffs which do not affect play).

Lps graded under a "natural sunlight" lamp = to 150 watts
M- Like new but may have a single small mark or a small area of very lite sleeve wear, none of which affect play
VG++ May have a very few lite marks/scuffs, sleeve wear, play will probably not be affected
VG+ Has some lite scratches/scuffs, maybe writing on label, may play with occasional lite noise
VG Will have more noticable scratches/scuffs than VG+, may play with greater amount of lite noise
G Lots of visual lite scratches/scuffs but still plays good with lite to moderate noise, nothing too distracting
Fair Moderate scratches but still plays good for the most part with maybe constant lite noise, no skips, pops or ticks
HOW I PACK RECORDS & EXTRA REQUIRED POSTAGE
I use cardboard lp mailer with cardboard filler pad. I take the record out of the jacket so cover does not get seam split damage. NOTE: I retain proof of mailing for all lp's sent.
