Description

The quinessential turn of the century 6 string banjo player affectionally known as "Fat Mouth" , here is the inimitable Papa Charlie Jackson in the definitive collection c 1924-27 of his best sides featuring early minstrel era tinged country blues banjo and vocals by one of the days most celebrated soloists. Included here are the earliest recordings of Salty Dog Blues and Alabama Bound plus some wonderful vaudeville/minstrel melodies such as Please Loan Me Your Heart. John Sabastian of Lovin Spoonful was hugely inspred by this artist as were many in the folk and blues revival of the 50's 60's. From my own collection this black label 1st pressing c early 70's has been played only a few times, remains in near mint cond. Jacket has a tiny split at bottom,well repaired, overall exc cond.Fine addition to any collector,musician or roots enthusiast library.International buyers welcome, pay any applicable duties in their own country.
