This is an extremely rare, relatively unknown group from Percy, Illinois, a town just about half-way between Carbondale, IL and St. Louis, MO. This record has almost no presence online, making it increasingly hard to score a copy. I have been collecting regional metal for most of my time spent listening to records, and this has always been one of my favorites. Paragon, being from Illinois and playing during the best era ('84), definitely reflect the Chicago sound. To me, these four songs sit somewhere between Amethyst and Hammeron in terms of style. It's very surprising that this EP didn't gain more traction.

VG+/VG The record does have a few pops and crackles, but does not play with consistent surface noise. Visibly, the record shows some hairline scuffs and very light surface wear. The vinyl is super glossy. The labels look perfect. The stock, black outer sleeve shows corner and seam wear, as well as some light creasing.

And as far as record grading goes, I've graded each record by eye and ear. I am not a "professional" dealer, so my grades are based on the Goldmine Grading Standards and nothing more. I refuse to sell anything below a VG grading. Please, pay attention to the condition listed in each auction--not every record presented will be M, like many people seem to assume.

M: flawless; i.e. sealed with no visible flaws

NM: virtually flawless; i.e. in shrink, no visible flaws

VG+: light wear; i.e. surface marks do not affect play, wear is not immediately visible (no splits, no writing)

VG: moderate wear; i.e. some surface noise, obvious edge and surface wear (light seam splitting, light writing)
