Description
"Party Party" (Soundtrack) 1982. This is a six pack of 7" promo singles with new interpretations of old songs. This pack features Sting, Bad Manners, Elvis Costello, Pauline Black, Midge Ure, Chas & Dave, Dave Edmunds, Modern Romance, Bananarama and Altered Images. The sharp eyed among you will notice this pack represents 12 tracks when the original soundtrack album (AMLH 68551)had 13 tracks. That would be correct Sherlock. The missing 13th track was "Driving in my car" by Madness which was released separately as a single and went on to sell bucketloads, but these singles were never commercially released. Each has 'promotion copy not for resale' printed on it. All the singles are double A-sides. I have this copy as I was a manager at Kempsters Records in Swindon from 1979-1984 and we had this to promote the album. A few times the singles were taken out to play to potential customers but beyond that, this has been in my possession for the past 38 years. The only single I've played a few times at Christmas is "Run Rudolph Run". All six singles are sequentially numbered from 'Party 1 to Party 6'. Singles are; Party 1 "Need your love so bad" Sting c/w "No Woman No Cry" Pauline Black. Party 2 "Tutti Frutti" Sting c/w "Run Rudolph Run" Dave Edmunds. Party 3 "Band of Gold" Modern Romance c/w "The man who sold the World" Midge Ure. Party 4 "Auld Lang Syne" Chas & Dave c/w "Elizabethan Reggae" Bad Manners. Party 5 "No Feelings" Bananarama c/w "Party Party" Elvis Costello & The Attractions. Party 6 "Little Town Flirt" Altered Images c/w "Yakety Yak" Bad Manners. Condition is good with a couple of 'sweat stains'. This is nothing serious, its just a ghost stain that comes from vinyl being stored in the plastic display sleeve and not being unfolded to breath. You have a similar effect with damp if singles are tightly stored and you get a 'mould'. All the singles are flat, no warps, no crack, splits or anything like that. Genuine rarity. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd class. I combine postage on multiple purchases overa 24 hour period.
