Description
This is a very rare original copy of Pat Kilroy's one record, Light of Day. It seriously looks completely unplayed, even with very close checking.
The sleeve is printed in the USA, and is EKL 311, and the label also says EKL-311 (Manufactured in England) but the record matrix (hand printed) says EKS 7311.
BAD POINTS: Sleeve back has a stain to bottom left corner, a bit of discolouration in places, and moderate edge wear. It also has 35p written in ball-point pen, top left, near the Elektra logo. (Wow, that was a good price even in 1972.) There are some tiny specks of paper/dust on the record.
GOOD POINTS: It genuinely looks unplayed. I'm not going to spoil that now, so it'll be the winning bidder who plays it first and sees if it is mono or stereo. The heavy-duty sleeve is solid and generally in really nice condition.
We think this counts as a MINT record and an EX sleeve.
It will be sent by a fully insured postal service.
My bloke and I are reluctantly selling our cherished record collection, to make more space and to make a bit of money to pay for home improvements.
We bought records mainly in the 60s and 70s.
We are not sure what the best method of selling is, but thought we would test the water with a few of extremely various quality on eBay.
We are novices at selling records, but will state our opinions about each one clearly and honestly.
We will also use good quality LP mailers with stiffener.
We will normally ship the same or the next day we get your payment.
We will try to follow the Record Collector grading guidelines:-
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
