Description
Patti Smith 1976 Gloria 7" French Arista Picture Sleeve
Here for auction is this rare French Arista 45 from Patti Smith's debut LP, and featuring on its B-side an extreme 'Live In Cleveland' version of The Who's 'My Generation' with John Cale blasting guest bass guitar. Purchased new by Julian Cope from Liverpool's Probe Records, the heavy European cover was immediately secured in a polythene bag, ensuring that even today it appears clean and new – no tears, no bends, no scrapes – no more than some minimal ring wear giving away its age (please see photo). Both sides of the disc have just been played and sound excellent – a loud cut! There is a small amount of static at the very beginning of 'Gloria' but both sides are otherwise clean. A lovely item! Many thanks for looking.
