Patto - Hold Your Fire UK (Vertigo spiral 1971 6360032) 1st press
Patto's second album features the incendiary guitar playing of Ollie Halsall, and was unusual for the time particularly for it's tri-fold sleeve, many of which disintegrated over time. Artwork was by Roger Dean, more commonly known for his fantasy coves for the likes of Yes, Budgie and Osibisa.
There's plenty of good news with this first press Vertigo spiral release from 1971: the tri-fold sleeve is largely intact, the original spiral inner sleeve is included, the spiral labels are Very Good ++, and the vinyl actually plays better than it looks, with a couple of exceptions.
There is one jump early on Side 1, and it sticks at the start of track 4 on Side 1. Otherwise, it plays through fine despite a number of surface marks and scratches. Yes, there is crackle and one or two pops, but it's perfectly listenable.
The sleeve is very grubby, and there is damage to the spine. The Vertigo spiral inner is inevitably a bit faded, and has a couple of minor tears.
It's a VERY rare album though, so bid away!
