Description

PAUL CHAMBERS QUINTET with Donald Byrd, Cliff Jordan, Tommy Flanagan and Elvin Jones- BLUE NOTE LP 1564;  RECORD/COVER: VG to VG+

Details: 1st original 1957 mono US pressing with 47 West 63rd NYC 23 address on both stone-cold mint labels, Deep Groove, RVG and "ear" in the trail-off vinyl of both sides; No Inc or (R); No wear on spindle hole;

Vinyl notes from visual and audio grading:

Side 1 has a couple of very light hairline marks- not affecting play.  Has some rustling intermittently that would clean up with a good pro wash.

Side 2 has six small cosmetic scuffed areas, light rustling and a couple ticks; again, all these may clean up well.  One scuff area has deeper marks but close listening reveals no effect on sound.

ALL IMPERFECTIONS APPEAR TO BE SIMPLY COSMETIC APART FROM HALF A DOZEN LIGHT TICKS.  NO SCRATCHES OR SKIPS THAT EFFECT PLAY.  THIS RECORD SOUNDS GREAT AND WITH A PROFESSIONAL CLEANING WOULD SOUND EVEN BETTER!

Shipped in plain white replacement inner-sleeve.

Cover notes:

I'd grade the cover at 7.5-8 out of 10.  Original first-issue thick, laminated cardboard jacket in very good condition.  No splitting and just the slightest shelf-wear: small 1/2 inch crease at bottom right of front cover, the slightest of yellowing to the edge of the front cover- mostly retains the stunning original white, very slight chipping/bumping to corners and slight tears to interior of lightly bowed opening.  Spine and seams 100% intact.  No writing, stamps or holes.

ALL IN ALL THIS IS A SOLID, BEAUTIFUL COPY OF AN ULTRA-RARE GEM.
