DESCRIPTION: Great Los Angeles jazz of the late 1920s recorded in Culver City at the Hal Roach Studios in April 1929. Hot and musically sophisticated without sounding modern or swingy. Reedman Charlie Lawrence arrangements are brilliant. Plays clear and strong.
