Original very early 1st Capitol Records pressing of Paul & Linda McCartney “Ram” released by Apple Records in May, 1971. “Ram” is one of those albums which almost didn’t have any promotional materials and finding a handful of those that existed is incredibly hard. Up for an auction is an extremely rare original 1971 poster of “RAM by Paul and Linda McCartney” from the Billboard Magazine. The collector who we acquired this rare poster from stated that throughout several decades of collecting Paul McCartney’s memorabilia it was the only time when he came across and was able to purchase it. Large with a white border poster measures 22” x 14¾” and has a collage with an image of the opened gatefold cover of “Ram” at its center. The bottom right corner has the text against the white border, below the image of the album, reading “by Paul and Linda McCartney”. The second item coming in this set is a no less rare original 1971 Wise Publications “Ram” 60-page 8.5” x 11” softcover songbook which besides the album’s song lyrics, notes and guitar chords features tons of rare photos of Paul by Linda and some photos taken by Paul himself. The back side of the Billboard "Ram" poster includes the information about the 1971 3rd Annual International Music Industry Conference in Montreux, Switzerland with the original registration form still intact. These two incredibly rare pieces of memorabilia together with a factory sealed copy of the 1st US issue of the “Ram” album represent a highly collectible gem. The front of the gatefold cover contains an original Apple Records promotional 3" x 4¾" "Paul & Linda McCartney Ram" song title hype sticker affixed to the shrink wrap at the bottom right corner. The sticker contains a misprint indicating "To Many People" as oppose to "Too Many People". Only a handful of 1st pressing copies had this extremely rare sticker. The catalog number “SMAS-3375” is indicated at the bottom of the spine. 1st print cover variation contains the “Manufactured by APPLE RECORDS, INC 1700 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10019 Printed in U.S.A." credits in the lower left-hand corner on the back. Please pay attention that this copy’s cover has a unique feature as the credits have been shifted lower and are located inside the gatefold interior. A part of the “Printed in U.S.A.” text in a circle can be seen at the bottom edge of the back cover.
