PAUL McCARTNEY BAND ON THE RUN PICTURE DISC SEALED ~ 1978
RARE Limited Edition Capitol Picture Disc Lp In Original Factory Shrinkwrap Sealed Condition.
Album Cover Lies Flat with sharp corners and no signs of Wear or Damage
This album is unopened however shrinkwrap has about a two inch split section at seam Center Right edge (see pic 6)
otherwise rest of album is completely sealed with no holes, rips, tears or open ares.
Upper left corner has the promo hole punch. I checked 8 to 10 Rare Record forums and web sites inquiring as to possible Valuation affect if any and of course got mixed responses. The overwhelming general response was that for 20+ year and older rare and hard to find LP's this is basically a non issue any longer with condition and appropriate grading of the vinyl, inserts and jacket (or cover) being the sole factors in determining Valuation. A few old school collectors sticking to expectations of small discounts, but once infomed the item and Sealed factory state they also softened stance. To my surprise, quite a few suggested that in some circumstances many older promo releases can command a premium due to rarity of numbers released and high probabability of these albums being in lightly or unplayed condition as most survived in DJ's collections as opposed to mass retail distribution. Not surprisingly Beatles records were the most often cited example for this argument as they were notorious for very low promo manufacture and distribution. Not much need to promomote any of their material along with may of the big time groups of the 60's and 70's.
