Description
Paul McCartney Wings Band on the Run Shrink wrapped Sealed Picture Disk LP.
(There is a small opening in the shrink wrap but the LP has never been out of the sleeve.)

Paul McCartney’s 5th solo release.
The album took off slowly, taking seven months to reach number one, became the biggest seller by far, staying in the U.K. charts an amazing 124 weeks (Two and one-third years !!)
It was the best selling album in Britain in 1974, and by the end of 1974 had sold over six million copies worldwide.
This picture disc version released in the states on Capitol in 1978, catalogue number SEAX 11901 ... the front cover has a big circle cut-out and if you look closely you can see the track bandings on the disc.
The album wasn't ONLY recorded at EMI's studios in Lagos, it was also recorded in Ginger Baker's ARC studios (also in Lagos), in Trident studios in London, and the orchestral sounds arranged by Tony Visconti were added at AIR studios, London.
The recording sessions from 1st-22nd September 1973 in Lagos produced all the album tracks, plus :
"Helen Wheels" - released separately as a single,
"Zoo Gang" - An instrumental theme for a T.V. show,
"B-side to Seaside" - issued as the B-side to Seaside Woman,
"Oriental Nightfish" - later used as a cartoon soundtrack.
Also in November 1973 in Paris, Wings re-record "Seaside Woman", "B-side to Seaside" and "Oriental Nightfish", plus :
"Wide Prairie" - A Linda song, unreleased for 25 years,
"Luxi" - A jingle intended for Radio Luxemburg (208) which include BOTR titles in the lyrics,
"I Got Up" - A Linda song, unreleased for 25 years.
As well as the band, the front cover picture features Michael Parkinson, Kenny Lynch, James Coburn, Clement Freud, Christopher Lee and John Conteh. (Full story below)
Paul commissioned Gordon House and Storm Thorgerson to shoot a promo for the album, which they did featuring behind the scenes footage of the creation of the album cover photograph. Never shown in full anywhere, it was seen as a backdrop on tour with Paul.
