Backed with “Shake It Up,” this cautionary anti-drug anthem is in pretty nice condition.  Clearly, it was played by the radio station, but it isn’t beaten up by any means.  There are a lot of light scratches to both sides.  The majority of them aren’t visible under normal room lighting. 

See photos for the hairlines.  It’s hard to capture them on camera, so I’ve enhanced the photos to show them.  They aren’t this pronounced on the actual record, and they certainly don’t affect play.

The bonus 45 is actually a pretty interesting promo item.  Issued in 1970 in small quantity, this record describes several drugs and their effects which were prevalently used by the hippie culture.  Aimed equally at parents and teens, it discusses how to approach the topic with your kid, as well as defining some of the slang of the day.  It also tells parents about behavioral signs as well as where to look on their kids’ arms for track marks, etc. 

The only odd thing about this presentation is that the kids who were hired to read their questions for the good doctor to answer sound stoned.  Not kidding.  And as for the doctor’s tone, imagine if Charlie Brown, from “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” were a certified doctor as an adult.  The presentation’s material is credible and solid for its day, but it honestly sounds like something you’d want to get your friends high for, and then play for them.

Disc is solidly Near Mint.  Sleeve is just under that grade.
