Description
For sale is Paul Simon's Graceland, originally released in 1986 by Warner Brothers Records, made in Germany by Record Services GmbH for WEA Records, imported into the U.S. as a 180 gram vinyl, numbered (#1116) copy of what was advertised as a "Collector's Edition" on the enclosed insert. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is one matrix number "1-A/1-B", indicating that a very early stamper was used to make this limited edition record, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. The WEA Records insert is Near Mint. The inner sleeve is Excellent with some wrinkles. The cover is graded as VG+ because of some ring wear, edge rubs and stress cracks and a crease along the spine. The spine is Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint Minus with very faint sleeve marks. I'm play grading it Near Mint. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This is one of the best copies of this record that I've ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one is this condition. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
