This is the REAL DEAL. ORIGINAL and Ultra rare Paul Smith out of Jacklyn Records 1001, This copy is marked on printed label MW 738 (Ill Run) side and MW 739 (Aint that Something)side, it was miss etched (on vinyl, near center) MW 736 (Ill Run) side and MW 737 (Aint That Something) side. As you can see in pics, the numbers 736 and 737 were scrathed and next to them was re-etched 738 and 739 .
I recently purchased a collection of over 1000 45s originating from a radio station and two private collections. I purchased them for the Classic Country and rare Rockabilly (Sorry) I will be parting out several hundred 45s in the next few months to help pay (I hope) for what I am keeping.
One of the DJs that played at a station where many of these records originated would give them a "test spin" and then write on the label what he thought of the music. Dozens of the records I will be listing have written comments (In pen unfortunately) ranging from bad to good, great, sucks, I love it, so on and so fourth.
I guess it is both good and bad the DJ rated this record as a "bad" for "Aint That Something" to a "So So" for Ill Run, The bad part being the label has been written on each side (see pics) The good part being I dont believe this record had seen any airtime at the station and is in superb playing condition.
I have carefully test spun this record twice on each side on my vintage Magnavox Stereo Phono player and each song plays flawlessly. Crisp, clean and clear.
I am not sure of the "politically correct way" to grade a records condition so I wont. Please see pics and refer to my feedback, be assured item is accurately described!
CONDITION: This record has a beautiful shine, just recently removed from dry storage, guessing played very little judging from the lack of wear. Refer to side pics, You have to look EXTREMELY CLOSELY to pick out any VERY MINUTE scratches, I hate to even call them that, but they are almost impossible to see. Lable has been written on (in pen) on each side as description states, see pics (so-so and bad) The irony! Shows you what tho Hillbilly Hick DJs know! This record has a few tiny "bumps" that apear to be some kind of air bubbles from the manufacturing process possibly. They do not effect the sound or playability. The seem to be concave on one side and potruding from the other, they are near the size of a pin head. Almost a "pimple" of sorts. This 45 does have a small crack near the edge (see pics) it appears to be visible from both sides and is approx 3/8 of an inch long. I can not detect any odd sound, skipping or anything of the matter when needle passes by this area. Again, THIS RECORDS PLAYS FLAWLESSLY, each side from start to finish of each song.
