One Complete Approximately 30 Minute Radio Program On These Four 12 inch, 78 RPM, Black Lacquer Acetate Discs
These Discs Were Recorded For Paul Whiteman by The The Universal Recording Company and not available to the general public, Very Rare!
"Chesterfield Time" radio program from August 23, 1939 staring Paul Whiteman & His Orchestra with Joan Edwards & The Modernaires. Program is broadcast From The Grand Ballroom of The Nicollet Hotel in Minneapolis, MN - which was a popular destination for many big bands in the 1930's
Songs include "Just One Of Those Things", "The Lamp Is Low" vocal & piano by Joan Edwards, "South American Way", "Shabby Old Cabby" vocal The Modernaires, "Trammin At The Fair", "Day In Day Out" vocal Clark Dennis, "Sunrise Serenade" featuring Joe Mooney on accordion, "Summer Song Bouquet Medley: Lazy/Lying In The Hay/Deep Night/Summer Night" vocal Joan Edwards, Clark Dennis, The Modernaires. There is a slight swoosh on the first few seconds of the song "Shabby Old Cabby"
The song "Sunrise Serenade" is interrupted for a few seconds by an International News Service Bulletin stating that the German-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact has been signed - actually makes the broadcast quite interesting!
