Description
Here is an excellent copy of the first record ever released by a teenaged Paul Williams, with a group called the Chancellors. The disc was released in 1965, a few years before Paul began working with Roger Nichols, and has a distinctive surf and garage influence. The disc is very rare--the only definitive info I was able to find is a little blurb by Tom Potts, who was the group’s guitarist. Tracks are “I Need You” and “Summertime Love.” The first is a punchy teen surf rocker with a great, twangy guitar break. The other is more of a vocal group tune, a throwback to several years before. This copy is in VG++ condition, with a touch of label wear and a few faint surface marks that do not affect play. The audio linked below comes directly from this copy:
