Pavement Slanted & Enchanted LP UK 1st Press 1992 Big Cat ABB34 + Insert VGC+. Condition is "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed For.
I've graded the sleeve and vinyl as Very Good Plus, but they are both in borderline Excellent condition. And so is the inner sleeve and original limited edition insert. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS AS PART OF DESCRIPTION
I have cleaned and play-tested both sides of the record and it plays really well and still sounds great!
This is as near a perfect debut album as you could hope to release! 28 years on it still sounds contemporary and brilliant. I saw them live many times and 4 times on the promotional tour for this album, and they were always excellent. Simply one of the best and most influential Alt.Rock/Indie albums and bands of the nineties.
I'm selling a lot of my vinyl and CD collection, because the kids are getting bigger and the house is getting smaller! Basically, it was either the kids or the records, sadly the coin came down tails...Thanks for looking!

Listening to Slanted & Enchanted is like listening to a college radio station that you can barely tune in -- melodies are interrupted by shards of white noise, only to have a simple hook pull everything back into focus. On their first full-length album, Pavement constructed a cycle of gleeful guitar noise punctuated by fragments of melody floating in and out of the chaos. Aesthetically, the thin, noisy low-fidelity production is appealing and uncompromising, but what makes Slanted & Enchanted remarkable is the songwriting. Instead of disguising an underdeveloped sense of songcraft, the production embellishes and subverts the band's gift for unusual, catchy hooks. Surrounded by fuzzy, noisy guitars, white noise, and Stephen Malkmus' languid vocals, the pure pop melodies of "Trigger Cut" and "Summer Babe" sound foreign, but the production gives context to the gorgeous melancholy of "Here" and the brooding "In the Mouth a Desert." Some listeners may initially find the lo-fi sound of the record inaccessible, but the sheer strength of Pavement's songs settles in after a few plays It's an enduring gem of an album, and a classic of the genre from any era.
