Led by Ronald Brockett (organ) and the majestic voices of The Children Of God, this album from Brooklyn is a mesh of haunting traditional gospel tunes and soulful burners which kicks butt first and takes names later. The album opens up with the super soulful "Theme Song". Then the slow winding "Lord's Prayer". Gorgeous organ and voice inter-twining on "Standing In The Need Of Prayer". "I Heard The Voice" starts off tame and then slowly works its way into an orgy of voice and sound similar to a cross of Donny Hathaway's "In The Ghetto" and "Lift Every Voice And Sing". On side 2 the listener is blessed with the breath-taking, 10 min. long "Peace And Love", a funky, spiritual burner with amazing organ, drums, and bass (the money cut for the album!); lets the dancefloor groove out while repenting for their sins! Superbly rare and worth every penny! Do the do, gospel gold with a whole lotta' soul!
