This is an original promotion copy of Peaches & Herb's 7" CBS single 202509
'Let's Fall In Love' b/w 'We're In This Thing Together'
Released on 20 January 1967 - only one owner!
This was Peaches and Herb’s first single, produced by Van McCoy. Herb Fame later worked with several fresh 'Peaches' but this one is the original - Francine Hurd Barker. ‘Let’s Fall in Love’ was the US hit but it was the up tempo Motown style of the B side ‘We’re In This Thing Together’, reminiscent of the 60s Marvin Gaye duets, which had them dancing in the UK clubs. In later years this single was reissued due to demand from Northern Soul aficionados, but this is an original first pressing.
What makes this item a little more unique is that not only is it a DJ’s promotional copy, but it also comes with the original accompanying 1967 press release.

I've owned this single from new - amazingly - since it was given to me amongst a box of promotion copies of singles in 1967. I was always a bit of a hi-fi nut so I can absolutely vouch for the fact that it's been well looked after and played on reasonable equipment - probably only played half a dozen times. It comes in the original CBS sleeve.
I'm not familiar with the conventions for grading the condition. However as you can see from the pictures the sleeve is clean and in good condition with no writing or pen or pencil marks, and has no other significant marks or tears. Likewise the press release is clean.
The record itself has no visible blemishes at all that I can see. The label is clean and virtually unmarked, once again with no writing, pen or pencil marks. The centre is intact and the spindle hole is perfect. The playing surface has no visible scratches and looks as good as new. The reproduction quality is about as good as it got from a 1967 vinyl single pressing - it's never going to be CD quality, but pretty good nevertheless. There's no audible scratches or crackles other than the usual surface noise that you'd get with any new vinyl record. The lead in and play out grooves are clean and glitch-free.
I believe this is as close as you'll get to a mint condition original copy of this very rare single.
This record was not a hit so demos and stock copies will be very hard to find.
