MY DESCRIPTION OF THE RECORD AND COVER

RECORD COVER -  the original first issue cover is in NEAR MINT CONDITION with only minor signs of its 55 years of age. always stored upright - smoke free environment so no nasty stains etc. 

as you can see from the first photograph this has the very first stereo cover with the logo being the triangular version with the FFSS logo and without the box. this logo was only used up until SXL 2023 and is quite a rarity in itself. the colurs of the sleeve are still vivid and fresh and there is no loss of colour. the sleeve has only shelfwear and is free of any splits tears or stains etc. the sleeve is fully laminated front and back and the laminate is in excellent condition without any damage.

the sleeve also has the blue back border which again was quickly dropped from use and was only used on the very earliest of decca's stereo pressings.

RECORD / VINYL -

the lp is the original first pressing with the original recording by decca at 9.00 o'clock on the label. the lable is the correct wide band grooved - recording first published 1958 to the right of the centre hole. "made in england" at the 6 o'clock position

matrix numbers are ZAL 3901 2E  and ZAL 3902 2E - vinyl is flat and free from warping

play tested prior to listing and while there is very minor occasional surface noise the record plays NEAR MINT throughout. the lp retains its almost new sheen and if inspected closely has a few very minor handling marks there is 1 very small and faint spindle mark on side 1 without any i can see on side 2.

GRADING USED

MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
