PEG LEG HOWELL 78 COLUMBIA # 14270-D
This listing is for a Peg Leg Howell, Pre-War 78. He is accompanied by : Henry Williams on guitar and Eddie Anthony on fiddle. Both side play through and overall condition is good. Both tracks recorded November, 1927. Tracks listed below:
HOBO BLUES : This cut again has surface noise, visible scuffs and hissing. The label looks good and it plays through. At the start you'd swear that Eddie Anthony was tuning his fiddle; keep animals out of the room when played. The fiddle does get better and the vocals are fine. Overall condition: Good.
MOANIN' AND GROANIN' BLUES : This cut was most likely done after Eddie's fiddle fiasco on the flip side, hence the moanin' & groanin'. None the less, this cut plays through however picks up additional noise as it goes on. Howell is joined by one of the others for some shared vocals. again, visible scuffs. Label looks fine. Condition: Good-.
This record, as well as others I am listing have been play graded on an Esoteric Sound multi-speed deck via McIntosh amp / pre-amp, in mono mode with the filter on. Remember, THIS IS AN OLD BLUES RECORD, and sounds like one.
