Description

You are bidding on the rare LP:

Peg Leg Sam- Going Train Blues, featuring Louisiana Red, released by Blue Labor Records (BL 105) in Stereo in 1975 out of New York, NY.

*It's no surprise that Peg Leg Sam was a veteran of the old medicine show circuit.  The man could entertain in a true variety of ways: toasting, storytelling, buck dancing with his peg leg, and playing his harmonica (freely between his mouth & nose!) in the most brilliant, raucous way.  Peg Leg unapologetically played in the absolute wildest style of the rural country blues.  On this release, Peg Leg plays a lot of moanin', down-home Piedmont blues.  His version of "Dog Chase" here is extremely wild, showcasing the most insane whoops & growls you'll likely ever hear!  The great blues guitarist Louisiana Red joins Sam on the majority of these recordings, which include "Navajo Trail", "Mr. Ditty Wa Ditty", "Strollin'" and "Early in the Morning".  As you can imagine, it's tough to find any blues record quite like this rarity.  In order to get a very good idea of Peg Leg's brilliance, I highly recommend viewing these clips from the film, "Born in Hard Luck",- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OciGRpwJfkI*

The thick Vinyl is visually-graded in VG condition.  When looked at under a bright light, the record shows a rich luster and a fair amount of very light surface marks.  This will play with a very full sound but a very minimal amount of surface noise will occasionally be heard.

The Cover is graded in VG condition, showing significant seam wear & a few very minor seam splits, and some minor edge & ring wear.  Overall, it still does look very nice.

Shipping is calculated by ebay at the actual cost for you, the consumer. I don't charge any extra fees for material or handling.

For combined shipping, please add $1 for each additional LP you purchase. If you buy many records from me, I can ship them all together in one box, and charge you the actual cost I pay at the post office. International customers, please keep in mind that once you reach 4 pounds (roughly 4 LPs+), 1st Class International is no longer a shipping option, and you must ship Priority or Express.

Insurance is your option as a buyer. International customers, please keep in mind that you can only insure your item if you ship Express, which can be very expensive. Please contact me if you would prefer this option.

Please take a look at my other auctions.  I have some incredible American Roots LPs currently listed, including Hillbilly, Honky-tonk, Appalachian old-time, Bluegrass, Cajun, Blues and early Hot Jazz.  Checking out my listings will certainly be worth your time.  All of my listings are auctions beginning at $4.95 with no reserve, and these fantastic releases are the real-deal, with the utmost quality. Thanks!
