It is a real joy to present to you this anniversary album. Fifteen years ago (1950) I was lying in a pool hall in Knoxville, Tenn., passed out, drunk. At that time a big revival meeting was going on of which I was not aware. Some Christian fel- lows heard of my condition in the pool hall. They came after me and persuaded me to go with them to the revival which was being conducted at the University of Tennessee. That night after the preaching of the word the choir began to sing if you want "Joy, Real Joy, Let Jesus Come Into Your Heart." I realized I was a sinner, lost without God and headed for hell. I made my way to an old-fashioned altar, confessed my sins, repented of them, and asked God to save me. That night a miracle happened— I was born again. Ten days later I was licensed to preach the gospel. God has opened doors of opportunity across the country. After preaching and singing in churches, tents, camp meetings, and scores of other places many of my friends have prevailed upon me to make a recording. I hope you enjoy this album as much as I enjoyed making it. The songs I selected are songs that bless the hearts of the saved. I am thankful to have on this album several talented musicians. Youywill re- joice with the singing of the outstanding Talley Trio, the superb piano playing of Dwy- nell Dill, Mrs. Frances Phillips at the organ, Lindsey Underwood piaying the guitar, Bill Huffman playing the bass, and Don Dudley with the rhythm.
