On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original independent issue of the debut album by Australian FOLK performers PENNY DAVIES & ROGER ILOTT.  This album was pressed in a quantity of 500 copies only.  It contains a fine selection of folk tunes with carefully crafted lyrics, narrative impetus, beautiful close harmonies, excellent musicianship and high production values.  Penny Davies’ voice is warm and natural, with an endearing and occasional rough edge.  Roger Ilott uses acoustic and electric 6 & 12 string guitars, pedal steel and bass, to weave delightful counterpoints to the melody.  There is a haunting quality on a few of the tracks.

Restless Recordings Studio was started by Penny Davies & Roger Ilott back in 1983 in the backyard of a rented cottage in Balmain (Sydney), NSW.
