Description
Lot is for a 1947 vintage set of 78 RPM 10" Shellac albums in a set sleeve--PERRY COMO SINGS MERRY CHRISTMAS MUSIC. This is an RCA VICTOR MUSICAL SMART SET, and features 4 records with a Christmas song on each side by Perry Como.
This is the 1947 edition (black labels) which replaced the song "O Little Town of Bethlehem" from the 1946 first edition with the classic "White Christmas" in this edition. Discs are in very good condition. Sleeve booklet is in good condition, with some wear, rubbing, and some color streaks on the back cover. Sleeves are complete, not torn, and securely bound in. Main cover is unmarked, but has wear and a small discolored spot on the right edge. The green cloth wrapped spine has the title, artist and set number (P/161) in gold.
A really cool vintage set of platters from one of the biggest crooners of the mid-century.
