Description
In 1996, if you were a Pet Shop Boys fan, you definitely heard about this promo, with the "Penis" sleeve. It got a LOT of attention. The photo was the work of American artist Richard Prince, taken from a published collection of his photographs (from the book "Adult Comedy Action Drama"). PSB used it three times: the Red Penis sleeve, the Blue Penis Sleeve, and a double penis sleeve for "Truck Driver & His Mate." Naturally, I needed to own all three.
I sold the "Red" one earlier this month, and now I'm selling the "Blue" one. I'm thinking of putting "The Truck Driver & His Mate" one up for auction on Valentine's Day. That seems appropriate. Soon I will be known far and wide throughout the eBay Community as "The King Of the Penis Sleeves" and then I can retire.
The photos I'm attaching make the sleeve seem a bit yellowish. IT IS NOT YELLOWISH! This is just my crap iPhone. The lower left hand corner of the front sleeve has been dented a bit. My apologies. The vinyl, however is in at least excellent condition. I have owned this since 1996 and have never played it. I don't believe anyone else has ever played it, either. (Must be annoying for Neil and Chris when they hear no DJ ever played their promo...)
